  • For students who are working to develop behaviour and learning skills and require direct support. This includes students who may have aggression, challenges with darting, or require increased support for communication or self help skills.

  • This program is designed for students who are working to develop skills around communication, behaviour, learning, social, and self help.

Students will come to Missing Links for 1-10 hours a week and work to develop specific skill groups so they can apply them at school and at home.

  • Our Foundations program is the first program where students will be part of a group for learning. We focus on social skills, developing routines, increasing communication, imitation, and pre-academics

  • As students begin to master learning skills and being part of a group, they move into our acquisition program with a greater focus on executing functioning, communication, and an introduction of academics including literacy, math, science and social studies.

  • Consolidation learners are working on more concrete academic concepts and developing social communication and independent problem solving skills.

  • Missing Links Connections Program offers ongoing learning opportunities for students in transitions out of full-time ABA programming. Designed for learners who would benefit from maintaining a LINK to ABA programming.

ABA Services

  • Core Clinical (IBI).

Our Core Clinical Services is replacing our previously named Intensive Behavioural Intervention (IBI) programming and follows the prescribed clinical-based approach to behaviours and learning in a clinical setting with objectivity, professionalism, and intensity. We individualize each program based on assessments such as the ABLLS-R and VB MAPP, observations, behaviours, and learner profiles.

Early Learners.

As part of our Missing Links Academy, younger learners with strong foundational skills will join our innovative ABA-based Early Learners program. This is a group-based program combining targets and curriculum goals from the Ontario Full-Day Early Learning Kindergarten Program (FDELK), ABLLS-R assessments, VP MAPP assessments, the Carolina Curriculum and A Work In Progress. Our multidisciplinary team brings together Ontario Certified Teachers, ECEs, autism behavioural science graduates, and behaviour specialists to create individual programs for each student to facilitate development and growth.

Academy.

For students who have mastered our alternative curriculum programming, we begin to focus more on the modified Ontario Curriculum and grade specific exceptions for K-8. The Missing Links Academy brings a hybrid approach to teaching, bridging the gap between classical education and curriculum content with behaviour and socialization goals. Our Ontario Certified Teachers work closely with our ABA-trained staff to create a supportive, clinically proven, learning environment and approach for students on the ASD spectrum. We explore the Ontario School Curriculum with hands-on, innovative approaches, to encourage student investment and social skills development.

The Missing Links Academy provides an alternative academic placement for students who require a different approach to learning. To support our students, we offer:

  • Modified classroom environments

  • Reduced class size

  • Modified materials for lessons

  • Technology based platforms to allow remote learning

  • Behaviour support

  • Increased focus on social skill development

  • Alternative curriculum

  • Daily programming from ABA professionals

Connections To School Program.

Missing Links Connections Program offers ongoing learning opportunities for students in transitions out of full-time programming and would benefit from maintaining a LINK to programming.

The objectives of the Missing Links Connection Program are to:

·         Continue a connection to clinical programming

·         Maintain skills developed before transition

·         Support generalization between multiple environments

·         Build and extending skills

·         Support acquisition of learning behaviours

·         Address interfering challenges in learning

Students must meet requisite criteria to enter the connections to school program

Transition to School.

For students who are currently enrolled in Missing Links programming, we offer a transition to school package to support a seamless, clinical, and supportive transition. Families will be able to access increased consultation, school communication, and assessments to support a positive transition to a traditional school environment.
